Dr. Indira Dhull

Dr. Indira Dhull in addition to Professor and Head, Department of Education at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak held various prestigious academic and administrative positions at her Alma Mater like Head, Department of Physical Education, Dean Faculty of Education, Provost (Girls) and Dean Colleges Development Council. She completed her Masters in English and Education, and obtained Phd. degree in Education. She joined Department of Education, MDU, Rohtak as Assistant Professor in 1988, was promoted as Associate Professor in 1998 and was selected as a Professor in 2006. She was awarded Common Wealth Academic Staff fellowship at Institute of Education, University of London in 1995-96. She has to her credit 4 books and 80 research papers published in journals of National and International repute. She organized a number of workshops, seminars, conferences and an Orientation Programme on National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education 2009. Her contribution in the form of research paper(s) presentation in seminars/ conferences is widely recognized. Recently her research paper was awarded The Best Paper Award in International Education Conference at San Francisco, (California) USA. 34 Students have been awarded Phd. Degree under her able guidance and 8 are still pursuing. Around 48 students have completed their M.Phil degree under her supervision. She has been Chairperson of Departmental Research Committee, UG and PG Board of Studies in Education and Member of Academic Council, Executive Council, Unfair Means Committee, UG/ PG Board of Studies in Education in various universities like Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Jammu University, Jammu, BPS Women University, Khanpur Kalan (Gohana) and Rajasthan University, Jaipur.
She also remained Coordinator of standing committee to check Sexual Harassment and Violence Against Women at Work Places, VC nominee in various selection committees, Associate faculty- Institute of Development Studies, MDU and Governor Nominee in Chaudhary Devi Lal University Court, Sirsa.
She has also been member of various committees constituted by University Grants Commission like:

  • Member UGC XI Plan Committee for recommending allocation of budget to various Colleges and Universities.
  • Member UGC Travel Grant Committee
  • Member Major and Minor Research Projects Evaluation Committee
  • Member Selection Committee for Award of Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship
  • UGC Observer to oversee the selection process under CAS at various universities
She is member/ member coordinator in National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team. She is life member of Indian Association for Educational Development, All India Association for Educational Research and All India Association of Teacher Educators (AIATE). She has been on academic mission to countries like UK and USA and also visited Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Austria and United Arab Emirates for better exposure.
